Howdy folks,
In this update -
1. Revised Prices - slight change on the 10mm
2. Revised Postage - for 6mm and 10mm
3. BIG ANNOUNCEMENT - Scenery and Terrain
4. Christmas Schedule - I know, I know.. sorry to bring this up already
The BIG Announcement is made - MiC handcrafted scenery and terrain, coming soon! |
1. Revised Prices
The cost for 10mm will be revised upwards, and the base Standard down from B to A.
The reason for the price increase is that its still failing to meet my minimum required 'per hour'. The increase will only be a few pence as I try to balance things a little better. The Standard, down from B to A, is based on feedback. Folks requested that the base line be crisp and clean with the option to upgrade Characters. This makes sense to me, so base will be Standard A, and special request will be at B.
This price increase will NOT EFFECT orders already booked in! If anybody has any questions here, please do email me.
2. Revised Postage
For 6mm and 10mm only. Those people who have received these scales from me will know the hassle of unwrapping 100's of individual models and bases! I am sure it takes you guys a while, I know it takes me a while to wrap them up. With the new pricing system in effect I really have to watch those odd hours spent packing models. To reduce the time, all 6mm and 10mm will be painted on lengths of balsa (or lollipop sticks) and mailed back still attached to sticks. I use a light clear glue so they will require nothing more than a sharp knife to gently release the models.
I appreciate some clients may find this a little fiddly to do, therefore if you let me know before parceling and I will loosen the models a little before I return them.
3. The BIG Announcement - Scenery and Terrain
Those who have been with me for many years will remember the host of terrain projects I used to do (anyone remember the 4' by 4' castle? Or the £1 walls created by the 100!). This time around I will be partnering with a local terrain builder to work on joint projects. This is great for me as now that the nights are drawing in, quality painting time is reduced, and I can help out with the building instead.
Buildings, walls, bridges - loads of items planned! |
We will initially be undertaking two courses with this project - developing a catalogue of common items such as walls and hedges and buildings etc. These will be sold as single and set pieces. Then (and this is the part I like) we will be working on 'packages' - parcel sized lots that include everything you would want for a specific period/scale. These packages will contain roads, rivers, fields, hills, trees, buildings and so on, all with one specific theme. It may be 'World War 2 France in 28mm', 'ACW Gettysburg in 15' etc
The first of these packages will be 'Ancient Rome, in 6mm scale' (yeah, my idea who else!). Expect a host of buildings, farms, roads and scenic pieces fit for my - sorry - your gaming table.
28mm Celt Roundhouses. Work in progress |
4. Christmas!!!
Its still 10 weeks to go, but as with every year, December is almost impossible for me to take on any new commissions, so if you are planning or wanting anything (and this includes the new Scenery and Terrain), now is the time to start thinking.
That's about all for this update. Thanks for taking the time to read.
If you have any comments, questions, ideas, suggestions, or feedback on any of the above, please do email.
Commissions are building up and I'll update the website shortly. I am still taking new commissions for November though, so please fire away with requests, Just easy on the Hussars!
thanks
Chris
